8 November -- 7:30 pm cst -- Malice Roosevelt
Thomas Canfield will lecture on DC’s wittiest socialite, reprising his lecture on Alice Roosevelt Longworth, who lived long enough to have Eris aspect most of the planets in her chart. Wonder what she'd say about the election just past -- The wittiest remark I'd ever heard was reported to me by now deceased astrologer, Lucy Saxman, about a party that Adlai Stevenson IV attended -- "The only time Adlai opened his mouth was to change feet."
Postscript
I just ordered the biography of Alice Roosevelt -- Tom was, as usual, brilliant -- the cyberdifficulties of it went somewhat smoother, tho' there were some glitches: an attendee had difficulty with the Citrix downloads. Canfield's technique of watching the Eris aspects and progressions together with his grasp of history illuminate the character arc of Princess Alice and the background structure of the Roosevelts (TR, FDR, Eleanor).
